It had been a quiet couple of months of incoming QSL cards. But a couple of QSL Bureau envelopes came in with some interesting cards including one for a brand new country.
I worked TO4A on the island of Martinique on 10M, 15M and 20M using CW during the ARRL DX Contest. All contacts were made from my modest home station.
This is one of the more interesting QSL cards I’ve received in some time. Like many DXpeditions, VP9G issued a folded QSL card with info on their efforts and highlighting the locale and sponsors. But the QSL card folds out to present a complete picture of the entirety of the DXCC entity with a marker showing the QTH. I worked them on 10M using CW.
Prince Edward and Marion Islands are South African territories in the South Atlantic. I worked them on 40M using both CW and FT8. This represented an All Time New One (ATNO) for me.
The W8S DXpedition to Swains Island in the Pacific was a big operation with a lot of sponsors. I worked them on all bands between 10M and 20M using CW and FT8. This was also an ATNO for me.
