Awards Hunting

Tied into my interest in DXing is my drive to acquire more awards and certificates. I had acquired a few awards earlier in my Amateur Radio career but then went a bit dormant. My interest has been revived as of late.

I think my first certificate was Rag Chewers Club (RCC), an award which could be won with a single contact, provided it was over 30 minutes in length. Of course, making a CW contact at 5 WPM meant not too much info was actually exchanged!

Usually, one knows what one has to do to receive an award, but not always. I was honored to receive the A-1 Operators Award some time ago. What I did to garner nominations from other Hams is unknown to me to this day.
