The Caribbean has often been described as a paradise due to its warm weather, sandy beaches and laid back attitudes. Even if you cannot get away to some of the locations mentioned in a Beach Boys song you can get a taste of tropical breezes through Amateur Radio. The FT4 Digital Mode Club (FT4DMC) issues the Caribbean Countries Award (CCA) for working stations in at least 10 different countries around the Caribbean Sea.

I cannot find an official web page with all of the award’s rules. I’m basing the following information on the related group FT8DMC’s rules for a similar award. The Bronze level award requires just 10 different DXCC countries in the Caribbean. The Silver award requires 20 different entities whereas the Gold award requires working all of them. You must make all contacts using the FT4 digital mode.
The award certificate sports a pastel inspired drawing of a villa on the waters edge.
To apply for CCA, and all other FT4DMC awards, you must install the UltimateAAC application on a Windows machine. That application scans your WSJT-X ADIF log file and will inform you when you’ve qualified for the award at various levels. FT4DMC issues the award in digital form only (JPG or PDF) with no printing or shipping costs. In fact, the award is completely free, like all of their other awards.
