Are you looking for another way to incentivize making lots of contacts with Japan on HF? The FT8 Digital Mode Club (FT8DMC) has you covered. You can get your first Worked All Japan Grid Squares Award (WAJGS) by working Japanese stations in at least 25 different grid squares.
Three versions of the award, bronze through gold, celebrate a different number of worked grid squares. The silver award requires 50 grid squares whereas the top gold award requires 75.
The certificates feature a large colorful photo of some site within Japan.
To apply for the Worked All Japan Grid Squares Award, and all other FT8DMC awards, you must install the UltimateAAC application on a Windows machine. That application scans your WSJT-X ADIF log file and will inform you when you’ve qualified for the award at various levels. FT8DMC issues the award in digital form only (JPG or PDF) with no printing or shipping costs. In fact, the award is completely free, like all of their other awards.
