Indonesia has a growing Amateur Radio population. The European Ros Club has an award to incentivize making contacts with Indonesian stations across the archipelago. Their Indonesia Grid Locators Award requires Amateur Radio operators to work Indonesian stations in at least 5 different Maidenhead Gridsquares.
Additional certificates can be had by working more grids within Indonesia. A grand total of 8 awards are possible. The top level award requires 200 grids. But you can chase even more than that by chasing the same grids on any single band between 160M and 6M.
The certificates differ by level and include such features as colorful photos of individuals in traditional dress, historic sites and a background of some of the grid square overlaying a map of Indonesia.
Applying for the Indonesia Grid Locators award, and other ERC awards, requires installing UltimateAAC. It’s an application that scans your WSJT-X ADIF log file and can tell you whether you have made the required contacts for the award.
