Zone 7 Award

The Activity Group of Belarus (AGB) offers a large number of Amateur Radio operating awards. Several of their awards are based on the zones of the world created as part of CQ Magazine’s Worked All Zones program. Zone 7 covers countries within Central America. AGB offers up the Zone 7 Award for working Ham Radio stations just within that zone.

The entry level award (Class III) apparently requires just 5 QSOs and perhaps 2 countries within the zone. I say apparently because I can find no official AGB page with the award requirements. Because these details are handled automatically by UltimateAAC (see below) it’s not much of an issue. Classes II and I typically require more contacts and more countries within the zone.

But these three certificates are just the beginning of the AGB award program for Zone 7. There are also awards for working stations on a specific band (160M through 2M) or using a specific mode (one of FT4, FT8, JT65, JT9, T10 or JS8).

The certificate features a Matrix-like background and a map of the countries that make up Central America.

To apply for the Zone 7 Award, and all other AGB awards, you must install the UltimateAAC application on a Windows machine. That application scans your WSJT-X ADIF log file and will inform you when you’ve qualified for the award at various levels. AGB issues the award in digital form only (JPG or PDF) with no printing or shipping costs. In fact, the award is completely free, like all of their other awards.
