The Canadaward is the Radio Amateurs of Canada‘s (RAC) answer to Worked All States. To obtain the award you need to work one Amateur Radio operator in each of the country’s provinces and territories. That amounts to a total of 13 separate contacts.
In addition to the standard all modes and bands basic award, there are program options for mode and band specific endorsements as well. For example, there are four different mode endorsements (Mixed, Phone, CW, and Digital) and numerous band endorsements (Basic – all, any single band, and satellites).
The certificate features flags of each of Canada’s provinces and territories, a map of the country and a large photo, presumably of the Rocky Mountains. Unlike most awards, it is vertically aligned.
A GCR list is required to validate that the required confirmations are in the applicant’s possession. RAC accepts confirmation via QSL Cards, Logbook of the World, eQSL or QRZ.com. You can either receive the award via a PDF document or request a paper copy. The cost of the PDF award is $5.00 Canadian Dollars whereas the paper certificate costs $10.00 for Canadian applicants and $15.00 for DX applications.
