Worked Oceanian Stations Award

The FT8 Digital Mode Club (FT8DMC) offers the Worked Oceanian Stations Award (WOSA) for working a given number of stations across the vast Oceanian Continent (Australia plus most Pacific Islands).

WOSA can be called a continental award, but could also be termed a Pacific Ocean based award. Some countries on the periphery of the Pacific area are classified as Asian instead of Oceanian. But the vast majority of islands (and countries) in the Pacific Ocean are considered part of Oceania.

The entry level WOSA award requires QSOs with 100 different stations. FT8DMC issues additional awards for more stations contacted in 100 station increments. The top level award requires working 1,900 stations, which means there are 19 award certificates to chase in the program.

The certificates indicate the number of unique stations contacted and includes a large, colorful photo of marine life in the ocean.

To apply for WOSA, and all other FT8DMC awards, you must install the UltimateAAC application on a Windows machine. That application scans your WSJT-X ADIF log file and will inform you when you’ve qualified for the award at various levels. FT8DMC issues the award in digital form only (JPG or PDF) with no printing or shipping costs. In fact, the award is completely free, like all of their other awards.
