Arab League Prefixes Award

The Arab League consists of 22 members states across Africa and Asia. The FT8 Digital Mode Club (FT8DMC) sponsors the Arab League Prefixes Award (ALPA) for working Amateur Radio stations residing within those countries with differing prefixes of their callsign.

The entry point for the award is 10 unique prefixes. There are certainly more but it’s hard to determine an upper limit. FT8DMC modified their website and finding specific award rules there is not currently possible. Using UltimateAAC (see below), you need not worry about such rules since it will automatically keep track of your progress.

The one certificate I’ve received from FT8DMC features a map of member nations and a picture of Al-Khazneh, also known as The Treasury in Petra Jordan. I have seen examples online going up to at least 50 prefixes.

To apply for the Arab League Prefixes Award, and all other FT8DMC awards, you must install the UltimateAAC application on a Windows machine. That application scans your WSJT-X ADIF log file and will inform you when you’ve qualified for the award at various levels. FT8DMC issues the award in digital form only (JPG or PDF) with no printing or shipping costs. In fact, the award is completely free, like all of their other awards.
